Ilse’s Story

Ms. Ilse Kotze is a qualified English teacher with experience of teaching students from diverse backgrounds. For her the most fulfilling part of teaching is that every class experience is unique whereby teachers and students can share opinions and learn from one another. I love learning from my students, as she believes that one is never too old or too young to learn something new. She has obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree (Summa Cum Laude), Bachelor of Psychology Honours degree and PGCE (Cum laude) from the University of the Western Cape in South Africa, majoring in English language, Communication Studies and Psychology. In her opinion teaching English is very special, because it gives students a voice. It is where students can see that words are powerful and that it has the ability to influence people. It can also instigate change in the world. Her goal is to see my students grow cognitively and to have them develop critical thinking skills in order to inquire more.  She is looking forward to working with WIS students, parents and staff to facilitate in the moulding of caring, confident, responsible global citizens and lifelong learners who will strive for excellence with great enthusiasm.
