Jayd’s Story
Mr. Jayd began his professional journey in music production before moving into education. He later lectured in South Africa before coming to China, where he discovered a passion for teaching young learners. He is now entering his eighth year of teaching in China as both an English and homeroom teacher, having spent six years in Shanghai and now his second year in Hangzhou. Mr. Jayd believes in a student-centered approach that places student voice at the heart of learning. He values each child’s individual learning style, strengths, and emotional needs, and aims to create a nurturing, inclusive classroom where students feel confident to participate, ask questions, and take risks. Through creativity, collaboration, hands-on exploration, and meaningful learning experiences, he supports students in developing independence, critical thinking, and confidence. His goal is to help students grow academically and personally while building curiosity, resilience, empathy, and a lifelong love of learning.
