Benjamin’s Story
Mr. Benjamin has been teaching for a surprisingly long time. “Upon graduating from University, I ran off to Greece to complete a TEFL course, and then to Taiwan and an intense crash course in English teaching in both Kindergarten and after School evening classes for primary school aged kids. Then, I charged manically back to almost Europe to work in Turkey for 6 months, and only managed to actually leave after 17 years! I spent a good 15 of those years teaching Primary school again and those were the years I got a good grip on my profession. I also found I enjoyed teaching other subjects so I decided to branch out into Homeroom teaching. China very bravely accepted me into its borders and here I am.” He spends his free time with his family and tries to find time to squeeze in other interests – reading, art, playing the piano, cooking and football.
Mr. Benjamin’s philosophy of education centers on the profound belief that learning should be a dynamic and engaging experience for every student. He is passionate about integrating his personal interests and enthusiasms into the classroom to spark student curiosity and enthusiasm. His teaching approach combines innovative, interactive activities with plenty of student involvement in the learning process. He utilizes various creative mediums—such as games, stories, drama, and art—that allow them to explore the subject matter in a way that resonates with their own interests and passions.
