Ilse’s Story
Ms Ilse is a South African educator with extensive experience teaching English in diverse international learning environments. She holds a Master’s degree in Education with Distinction from the University of Essex, UK, with a research focus on scaffolding and differentiation strategies to enhance students’ English language learning. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in English and Language and Communication Studies, a Bachelor of Psychology Honours Degree, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of the Western Cape in Cape Town, South Africa.
Currently serving as MYP English and I&S Subject Leader and MYP Coordinator Assistant, Ms. Ilse is passionate about inclusive, student-centred learning. Her teaching philosophy centres on giving students a voice, developing critical thinking, and creating opportunities for every learner to succeed. Outside of school, she enjoys travelling, exploring different cultures, building LEGO, spending time with her family, and embracing lifelong learning.
