Matthew’s Story
Mr. Matthew holds a bachelor’s degree from McGill University in History and a master’s degree in Teaching from the University of Toronto. He is certified by the Ontario College of Teachers to teach at the Primary, Junior, and Intermediate levels. With six years of teaching experience in China and Canada, he specializes in MYP humanities, language, and social studies.
Mr. Matthew implements translanguaging and structured literacy strategies to help all students develop a lifelong love of reading. He also utilizes arts education to create an inclusive classroom environment for students of all abilities. As well, he prioritizes inclusion and local inquiry to empower students to create a better world for all.
When he is not teaching social studies, Mr. Matthew helps the MYP Student Band write and perform music.
