Shuyang’s Story
Ms. Shuyang is a Chinese mathematics educator with eight years of teaching experience in the United States and China. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Mathematical Sciences from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a master’s degree in Mathematics Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. She holds a Chinese Teacher Qualification Certificate, a New York State Initial Teaching Certificate, and an IB Mathematics Category 1 certificate.
Ms. Shuyang believes students learn best when they actively engage in problem-solving and view mistakes as valuable opportunities for learning and growth. Through inquiry, discussion, collaboration, and hands-on activities, she helps students build confidence and deepen their understanding of mathematics.
Outside school, she enjoys spending time with her children, rock climbing, and reading comics.
