Ms. Zora Zhang is a dedicated and insightful mathematics educator with a Master’s degree in Chemistry from the City University of Hong Kong and over six years of teaching experience. For the past four years, she has excelled in the international school environment, teaching Middle School Mathematics with a passion for making the subject engaging and accessible for all learners. Her extensive experience also includes teaching high school levels and coaching students for prestigious international math competitions such as the AMC, IMC, and Kangaroo.
Ms. Zhang is a strong advocate for inquiry-based learning. She believes students truly understand mathematical concepts when they are encouraged to explore, question, and discover patterns for themselves. In her classroom, she employs innovative methods like the flipped classroom model and discussion-based learning to foster critical thinking, collaboration, and a deeper, more conceptual understanding of math. She skillfully creates an environment where struggling is seen as a valuable part of the learning process.
Beyond her teaching role, Ms. Zhang has previously served as a Grade Level Leader, where she was responsible for student pastoral care, demonstrating her commitment to students’ holistic development.
Outside of the classroom, Ms. Zhang is a devoted cat parent to two rescued felines, aged 6 and 2. She finds relaxation and creativity in crocheting, solving puzzles, and reading. She firmly believes that the problem-solving skills and logical thinking developed in mathematics are invaluable tools for understanding the world around us.
