In Kindergarten, we are busy working on making turtle sculptures with a special focus on texturizing the shell to make unique patterns. They are being very creative and having fun.
In Grade 1, students are painting and creating a springtime sculpture of a frog on a lily pad catching a fly. There are many components to building their sculpture that require patience and precision.
In Grades 2, 3, 4 and 5 we recently finished a unit on weaving. Each grade did a different weaving project with varying degrees of complexity. Grade 2 made woven owls with unique patterns. Grade 3 created a radial weaving designs and presented them on handmade frames. Grade 4 upcycled water bottles to make a fashionable woven container. Grade 5 created woven wall hangings. They all did a wonderful job and learned valuable skills. Weaving is a great activity that calms the body and mind. I am very proud of their work.
