This month the students have co-written a short story. This process involved the students working together and coming up with a plot, characters, and setting. Once the students had written the story they each had to write their own ending to the story. This helped the students be creative in a team setting, it caused them to work collaboratively, discuss and debate what the story was about, and to decide as a group how the story would flow.
In ELA the students have finished their book ‘Of Mice and Men’ and have completed short writing assignments on the book that looked at ‘relationships’, ‘Wall Street Crash’ and prevailing attitudes in the time that the book is set.
The students have also continued work on their key English skills, reading, writing, speaking, vocab, and use. This month the students have been working on verbs and sentence structure.
