What is the greatest invention of all time?
Recently, the fourth graders completed a short interdisciplinary unit on “Inventors and their Inventions”. Together, the students researched and generated a huge list of many important inventions and inventors from the beginning of time until present day. Then, each student focused in on the inventor that they wanted to research.
Students focused on three questions:
- Who is your inventor and what do you know about his/her life?
- What invention(s) did your inventor invent and how does it work?
- How has this invention changed the world in positive or negative ways?
After compiling their research notes, students looked at the important points of writing a research paper and worked through the editing and revising process. Each student has typed their final research paper and is crafting a paper display of their inventor too. Look for these ingenious inventors on display outside of our 4th grade classroom soon!
